SAP Drives Digital Manufacturing Milestone with S/4HANA at Cuxhaven Site

Siemens Energy, a global leader in energy technology, has taken a significant step in its digital transformation journey by launching the SAP Digital Manufacturing solution at five lighthouse plants situated in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. Collaborating with implementation partner Syntax Systems GmbH & Co. KG, this move marks a pivotal milestone that sets the stage for the broader adoption of SAP Digital Manufacturing across Siemens Energy’s global network of plants in the coming years.

Siemens Energy’s decision to partner with SAP aimed to establish a unified manufacturing execution system landscape that enhances productivity and fosters standardization across its worldwide production plants. With Syntax as the implementation partner overseeing the introduction and transition of selected plants to SAP Digital Manufacturing, Siemens Energy is poised to gain comprehensive oversight of its shop floor operations. This entails providing shop floor operators with tailored production dashboards, offering guidance and assistance to boost productivity.

Kian Mossanen, Chief Information Officer at Siemens Energy, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating that the implementation of SAP Digital Manufacturing at their lighthouse plants represents a pivotal milestone in their digital transformation journey. This collaboration equips them with the necessary tools to further improve their production capabilities, cultivate a data-driven culture, and enhance their ability to support customers effectively.

SAP Digital Manufacturing will empower Siemens Energy’s sites to make rapid and informed production decisions based on real-time manufacturing data. By implementing a harmonized solution, the plants can optimize their production processes, with the added support of low-code plug-ins that assist shop floor operators during assembly activities.

Sven Mulder, Managing Director at SAP Germany, emphasized that the rollout of SAP solutions across Siemens Energy’s production network is aligned with the company’s mission to make energy more reliable, affordable, and sustainable. He underlined the significance of collaborative efforts, underpinned by real-time data and analytics, in achieving the goal of clean and sustainable energy, highlighting its critical importance in today’s world.
