As per a recent update from the tech giant, the Amazon halo services will cease to function effective July 31, 2023.

“We recently made the tough decision to stop supporting Amazon Halo effective July 31, 2023. We are incredibly proud of the invention and hard work that went into building Halo on behalf of our customers, and our priorities are taking care of our customers and supporting our employees. We notified impacted employees in the U.S. and Canada,” informs Amazon.

The approach toward another region will be in adherence with regional rules concerning informing employees. Any employee impacted by the decision will be compensated accordingly. Talking about customers, the enterprise has been sending emails explaining the decision.

The tech firm will issue a complete refund for any purchases made of the Amazon Halo View, Amazon Halo Band, Amazon Halo Rise, and Amazon Halo accessories bands over the next several weeks. Additionally, any prepaid Halo subscription fees that are not used will be reimbursed using the original payment method.

“If you want to download or delete your Halo health data, you can do so from the Settings page in the app. If you want to save your scan images to your phone’s Camera Roll, open the individual image, click the button next to the camera icon, and select “Save images to phone.” Remaining Halo health data will be deleted after August 1, 2023,” continues Amazon.

This was expected given the company’s largest-ever round of layoffs and allegations that not even the well-liked Alexa voice assistant was profitable.

According to some sources, “Halo’s untimely end was attributed by Amazon to “significant headwinds, including an increasingly crowded segment and an uncertain economic environment.” However, the reality is that Halo’s gadgets had the most evident flaws.
