Tech giant Amazon has to face the law due to the U.S FTC.

Amazon is the target of an antitrust lawsuit being prepared by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) due to its alleged monopolistic business practices.

The FTC and Amazon issue began  during the tenure of President Donald Trump.

The FTC may challenge a number of the e-commerce giant’s business practices as anticompetitive, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The source of the information is included in the report.

The FTC is also looking into non-antitrust concerns involving Amazon.

Amazon has been under fire from several competition authorities worldwide over the past year. It recently resolved three significant antitrust probes in the European Union.

Lina Khan, the head of the FTC, is seen as a tenacious antitrust reformer, particularly concerning large tech corporations. She wrote “Amazon’s Antitrust Paradox,” a widely read essay. 

Her writings were published during her tenure as a law student. The tech giant may be offering products at low costs, but certain practices can’t be accepted, she said in the study.
