An agricultural ministry official told Reuters on Wednesday that France has picked the German company Boehringer Ingelheim to provide around 80 million doses of bird flu vaccinations.
The vaccines are required for the nation’s immunization campaign. As per the latest reports, vaccinations may begin in October this year. Through the program, France would be the first nation in the European Union to immunize chickens against the fatal virus.

France has been among the nations most severely impacted by the extraordinary global spread of avian influenza, sometimes known as bird flu, last year. Besides the death of birds, the supply of eggs and meat was impacted heavily.
To prevent supply snags the French poultry business has requested two different vaccinations. Additionally, they favored a vaccination in which one of the two doses was administered in hatcheries.
